5 Points for Living Heaven on Earth

While the concept of Heaven on Earth was a blissful one, I had never heard it broken down into 5 points. Here’s how it happened.

Some years ago I had the opportunity of being the assistant to David W.  Orme-Johnson, Phd, head of  the Psychology Department of, what was then called, Maharishi International University.

It is now known as Maharishi University of Management, a fully accredited University with a full range of studies, from Bachelor through Phd degrees, with specialties in Physics  and Vedic Science. My job was to help compile the Collected Papers, a 7 Volume set of published articles in peer reviewed scientific journals in the effects of the Transcendental Meditation technique.

I was a copy editor.

One day, David came into the office with printed copies of something he called Maharishi’s 5 Points for Living Heaven on Earth.  While I was familiar with Maharishi’s teaching, I had never seen it so succinctly present as David had done when he handed out copies of the Five  Points to his graduate students and  to lucky me.

In this article I am looking the five points as i read them off my gold-framed copy,

1) Know yourself. Be aware of your Self as the creator of all you experience. Aham Brahmasmi.

It was only recently the depth of that sentence finally dawned on me.

Aham Brahmasmi means I am Brahman. But what is Brahman?

Wikipedia describes it, quite accurately.

“In Hinduism, Brahman connotes the highest Universal Principle, the Ultimate Reality in the universe. In major schools of Hindu Philosophy, it is the material, efficient, formal and final cause of all that exists. It is the pervasive, genderless, infinite, eternal truth and bliss which does not change, yet is the cause of all changes. Brahman as a metaphysical concept is the single binding unity behind the diversity in all that exists in the universe.”

The Law of Attraction affirms that a higher Self does exist in all of us. Through alignment with this higher Self, we can attract into our lives anything that we desire.

The Law of Attraction also affirms, we will attract things we truly don’t want if we think about them long enough (37 seconds to gaining momentum according to Abraham-Hicks and my own experience).

So, what does that really mean?

It means, that each of us, has total control over what we create in our life – certainly an empowering concept.

The other four points suggest the implementation of The Law of Attraction.

2) Adopt the standard of perfection because it is a perfect universe.

This complements what we have just been saying about how the law works.

This point does not mean, be a perfectionist. A perfectionist is someone who always finds fault and is looking to make it better.

It means, since the universe is perfect, we need to align ourselves with that which is already perfect and perform action from that point.

3) Be self-referral. Don’t go by outside prompts.

Look inside and see what it is that you really want. Go inside yourself to know what to act upon and what not to act upon. Use your “emotional guidance system” (an Abraham-Hicks term) to allow you to know what you want to do.

Does that sound hard? It’s easy.

If it makes you feel bad, don’t do it. If it makes you feel it is taking you into the direction of bliss, do it.

Follow this guideline and impulse buying will go out the window. It has for me.

The last two points of the 5 points of living heaven on earth, I hardly need to comment more on, but I will a bit.

4) Desire and let go. Trust the universe to take care of the details.

Once you know what you want, move in the direction of bliss. If you consistently look at the lack of what you want, you will get more of lack – a hard lesson to learn, but an important one.

So, let us go onto the final point.

5) Make Bliss a primary motivation for doing anything.

Do you ever wonder why some people seem lucky all the time, while others don’t.

The unlucky people use words like “We can’t afford it.” “I knew this wouldn’t work.” “What’s the use of trying.” They don’t realize that they are creating that situation my their thoughts, which leads to words, which leads to the confirmation of their words in reality.

So, if this is your first introduction to the very attractive law, then by all means do what you can to learn more about it and, most importantly how to apply it in your own life.

That’s it, all 5 points of living heaven on earth.

Study the law of attraction, implement it. Then I won’t have to wish you, good luck.
